“You're suggesting I should own an HVAC business? But I’m a sales executive!” Or, “What do I know about plumbing? I’m a school teacher.”
I hear this concern frequently, and it’s a big misconception when exploring business ownership. When I evaluate franchise opportunities for candidates, one of the first things I look at is whether prior experience is actually required.
More often than not, it isn’t.

These franchise models are built this way on purpose. You hire the expertise. You run the business.
This holds true for many other brands beyond those listed above, all representing solid opportunities in areas where demand never turns off and strong operators can build meaningful, scalable income.
Don’t disqualify a pivot into a business ownership opportunity simply because you’ve never worked in that industry.
In many cases, that’s exactly the point.
Every week I have conversations with professionals who are becoming more and more convinced that business ownership is the best path for them, but remain unclear about the options available to them. It all begins with a no-obligation free consultation call.
