Degree Wellness is thrilled to welcome Ron and Sophan Palandro as the newest franchise owners in Wilmington, Delaware.
On paper, Ron and Sophan may seem like an unlikely pair to make the leap into entrepreneurship. Throughout their careers, both have built their reputations in fields centered on compliance, risk management, financial oversight, and operational excellence. Collectively, they bring more than 40 years of experience helping organizations navigate complexity, reduce risk, and make sound business decisions.
Ron has spent more than two decades leading compliance, regulatory, and operational initiatives across organizations including the Naval Surface Warfare Center, DCMA, and KPMG. Sophan has built an equally impressive career in tax management, financial reporting, and compliance with respected organizations including CSL Behring, DuPont, Deloitte, TE Connectivity, and International Flavors & Fragrances.
But ultimately, their decision to join Degree Wellness was not driven by spreadsheets alone.
As parents of three active children and advocates for healthy living, Ron and Sophan saw an opportunity to build something that could have a meaningful impact on the people around them.
They were inspired by Degree Wellness's mission of helping individuals improve their quality of life through accessible recovery and wellness services, whether that means helping someone sleep better, manage stress, recover from physical activity, or simply feel more energized and capable in their daily lives.
For a couple whose careers have focused on protecting organizations from risk, Degree Wellness represented something different: an opportunity to invest in people. Ron's passion for athletics through his adult hockey league and Sophan's dedication to fitness as a Les Mills instructor have reinforced their belief that wellness is not a luxury, but an essential part of living well. They have seen firsthand how recovery, movement, and proactive self care can improve lives and wanted to bring those benefits to their community.
